设计思想:
根据《高中英语教学大纲》的要求,在课堂教学中,必须以学生为主体,为中心进行教学,教师在教学中起主导作用。因此我采用任务型教学方式,每一部分都设有一定的任务,引导学生自主或者合作完成。采用线索式教学, Task根据step 1 step 2 step 3 进行,在完成各个step 的同时,把其中穿插的各个skill building 完成,进而促成各step 的顺利进行。在完成各任务的同时,训练学生们听说读写各种能力。此堂课为学生们创设一个熟悉情景,在此情景中激发学生的兴趣,最终写成一个人物传记。此情景就是假设堰桥中学为创建四星级学校做准备,要为学校寻找一个发言人,最终为校报写此发言人的一个人物传记。在整个过程中,有对教材内容的筛选,有对教材内容的额外补充,也有对教材内容的创新利用。而所做的所有修改,都是考虑到创设的情景的需要,激发学生兴趣,化复杂为简单,化枯燥为新颖。整节课以小组竞赛的形式进行,利于调动学生的积极性。
Analysis of the teaching material:
This part consists of a series of activities which provide students opportunities to learn and practice their language skills through listening, reading, speaking and writing. It is divided into three steps and each step is preceded by a skills building activity. Students are expected to learn how to read a curriculum vitae and write a biographical article.
Analysis of the students:

2 The students have the ability to read some materials, but their abilities of finding specific information,dealing with information and organizing information need to be improved.

Teaching Procedures (45mins)
Step 1:(Lead in )
Ask the students some questions about the detailed information about our school. (The answers to these questions are about numbers.)
1 When was Yan Qiao Middle School set up?
2 What’s the zip code of our school?
3 What’s the address of our school?
4 When did our school pass the authorization to be a three-star senior high?
(这一步骤代替了书上的练习,学生比较熟悉所提问的这些内容,可以激发学生的兴趣。问题较简单,但同样达到了训练数字使用的目的。在此步骤中引出了要为创建四星级学校寻找一个发言人这一话题,为下文的听力做好铺垫。)
Step 2 :
Listen to the requirements of the speaker.
Part A: Requirements for speaker:
1. Must be older than _______but younger than ______.

4. Able to speak from _______o’clock until _______o’clock.
5. Prepare a speech of _______hours, with _______hour for questions and answers.

(此部分听力对于学生来说还是比较难的,所以在听之前先把材料中的听力障碍先扫除掉,如nationality 和sex 等词,学生不知其意思,做听力时有障碍。因先通过一些语境让学生知道这些词的意思。如:We are Chinese. So our nationality is Chinese. 通过这些方法,尽可能的扫除听力障碍。听完后,分析requirements的内容,并把这些requirements 写于黑板上,为下面的活动做好铺垫。此步骤最主要训练学生听的能力以及听力技巧。)
Step 3:
Find out the mistakes in the advertisements and correct them.
(听力过后就是根据这些要求登广告来寻找这样一个发言人,书上的练习过于简单,只是简单的照抄,这样学生容易感到无聊。考虑到这些,我就根据书上的广告自拟了一则,在这则广告中有些细节的错误,这些错误都与上文中的requirements不符合,可对照黑板上列出的requirements,要求学生找出这些错误。同时,在此广告中,引出CV,做好铺垫。此步骤训练学生说的能力。)
Step 4: What is a CV?
Give the students two simple CVs and let them guess what is a CV. Briefly introduce the parts in a CV.
(让学生对于CV的构成有所了解。为下文解读Gao Jian’s CV 做好铺垫。)
Step 5:
Tell why Gao Jian is qualified for the position according to her CV.
(这部分创设的情景为告诉校长为什么Gao Jian 为合适的人选。按照黑板上所列出的对于应聘者的要求要求学生讨论为什么她是合适的人选, 其实就是在介绍此人,学生有了充分的输入,为下文写Biographical article的Body 部分做好铺垫。 此过程训练学生说的能力。)
Step 6:
What is a biographical article and how to write a biographical article?
Dian Fossey is one of the heroes of the twentieth century. Her love for the mountain gorillas in Africa taught people about dangers these animals are facing . Dian was an outgoing and kind person, and able to communicate with animals in ways other people could not.
Dian Fossey was born in California in 1932. She was very bright and went to university to study to be a veterinarian, but soon switched to Occupational Therapy. She graduated in 1954 and worked at a children’s hospital in Kentucky for several years.
However, her interest in animals, and the writings of an American zoologist called George B.Schaller led her to take the first step towards her future work. She went to Africa in 1963 to study rare mountain gorillas.
Even though some of the gorillas were quite dangerous, this did not discourage Dian because she was brave. She was very interested in her work and loved to tell people about gorillas.
Because the gorillas had interested her so much, Dian decided to study for a PhD in Zoology. While she was studying, she wrote a book about the gorillas she had lived with. She returned to Africa after her studies. However, she was murdered in 1985.
Dian Fossey is still alive in our hearts today. Thanks to her research, we now know more about mountain gorillas. They are also protected by governments and various organizations. Without her work, there would be very few mountain gorillas left today.

(此部分创设的情景为校长认为Gao Jian 比较合适,需要写一篇文章来让学校更多的老师和学生知道她,因此需写一篇自传体文章来介绍Gao Jian. 自然过度到让学生了解怎样写一篇自传体文章。此部分也对文章所给材料的创新利用。让学生根据文章来解决几个问题,然后根据这些问题引出文章的Introduction, Body, Conclusion 三部分。)
Step 7:
Write a biographical article
(文章中的Introduction, Body, Conclusion 三部分, Body 部分在step 3,step 5 中学生有了足够的输入,这一部分学生应该没有什么困难。课堂上因为时间关系,针对薄弱环节 Introduction 以及 Conclusion 部分做训练,此部分训练任然使用刚才所利用的文章,让学生了解在Introduction 以及Conclusion 要解决的问题,这样学生就会有意识的写出这些问题的答案也就构成了Introduction 以及Conclusion 部分)
Step 8:Homework:
Finish the biographical article about Gao Jian
(课上没有充足的时间写完全文,利用课后时间写完,使输出更加完整。)
课后小结:
整堂课紧紧围绕着Writing a biographical 这一中心任务开展,以创办四星级学校为话题,校长需寻找发言人为切入点,在这过程中训练学生数字运用能力,阅读简历的能力以及组织信息的能力,在训练这些技能的时候,同时训练了学生听说读写的能力,最终完成写作的任务。学生把当堂课所学内容能够应用起来,达到学以致用的目的。
